Open the Door to Safety...Labor and Management Hold the Key
This year marks the 72nd Western New York Safety Conference. The goal of the board of directors is to put together a program designed to promote the safety, health, and environment of the worker, employer, and the general public. Every fall, the board begins planning next year’s conference. The first step is to decide on a theme for the next conference. The 2008 theme is, “Open the Door to Safety, Labor and Management Hold the Key”. We’re not only promoting the need for a combined effort by both management and labor for a safe work environment, we are emphasizing that it is truly the key to success.As a member of the board for over 12 years, it is now my time to serve as President. More than twenty years experience in the safety field has shown me that success stories are written from the bottom up as well as the top down. The conference sessions for 2008 are designed to provide the tools and information to build a solid foundation for safety while providing the key that opens the door to its ultimate success.
