What We Do

The Board of the Western New York Safety Conference is offering Educational Achievement Award Scholarships of $1,500 to qualified high school students.
Qualified applicants are required to be:
-
High school seniors attending college (2- or 4-year programs) in the fall of 2026, and
-
Western New York residents (Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Genesee, Allegany, Livingston, Monroe, Orleans and Wyoming counties).
Application packages must include the following to be considered complete and eligible for the award:

A completed application form (attached or downloadable from the web site), and
-
A typed essay of at least 400-500 words (See application form for details), and
-
A certification of grade point average (copy of your transcript, unofficial is acceptable), and
-
At least one letter of recommendation, and
-
Unless there are extenuating circumstances, awardees must be present for the awards ceremony at the WNY Safety Conference on April 21st, 2026
It should be noted that:

Your essay must reflect your understanding of the importance of occupational safety & health. Briefly describe your background and how safety and health has impacted you. You may include:
-
Safety and health programs in which you have participated
-
The far-reaching impact laws and standards protecting workers have had on society
-
The role and impact of safety & health on you in your chosen career path.

Incomplete application packages and forms will not be considered
